These post-WW2 Ranks are from between 1948 and 1952. In 1948, the US Army switched to these smaller, gold on blue ranks until 1952 when they went back to a green on blue color scheme, along with a switch back to full-size ranks. During this period Gold on Blue ranks meant the soldier was in a non-combat role, the inverse - Blue on Gold meant the soldier was in a combatant position. These First Sergeant ranks are from this timeperiod.
